Controls: WASD, Shift sprint (~4s limit unless chased), Ctrl crouch, F interact, I inventory (3+9 slots), 1-3 hotbar, C ID card, V voice in co-op.

Sanity: Drops in harsh levels; below 15% phantom Smilers appear; 0% means death. Almond Water ~50% heal, food ~25%.

Death: Respawn at last checkpoint, lose items, full sanity. Co-op drops gear on body; revives at team checkpoints. Shared puzzle flags (keys) sync for all players.

Lore primer: Backrooms are liminal spaces from a 4chan image thread; levels are zones; entities are usually hostile.
